Shipping policy
Shipping Policy
This policy explains how we ship sandals, dresses, footwear and 3-piece linen sets from our workshop partners in France to your door in the UK — including our order cut-off, processing and delivery times, shipping costs, tracking, and what happens at the UK border.
Who ships your order, and where we deliver
Selenalondon is a trading name of JLA Marketing, a company established and registered in Paris, France under SIRET 834 721 094 00011. Every order placed on selenalondon.com — sandals, dresses, footwear, and 3-piece linen sets alike — is packed and dispatched from France.
We currently sell and deliver exclusively to addresses in the United Kingdom, including England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. We do not ship to addresses outside the UK, and we are unable to process an order placed with a non-UK delivery address.
This policy applies to every product on our site, across all four of our categories: Sandals, Dresses, Footwear and 3-Piece Linen Sets.

Order cut-off time
Our daily order cut-off is 16:00 (4:00 PM) Central European Time (Paris), Monday to Friday. Orders placed before this time on a business day enter our processing queue the same day. Orders placed after 16:00 CET, or at any time on a Saturday, Sunday or French public holiday, are treated as received on the next available business day, and processing begins from that point.
Because the UK and France share the same time zone for most of the year (both observe daylight saving in the same period), our cut-off falls at the same local clock time whether you're ordering from London, Manchester, Edinburgh or Belfast.
Order processing time
Once your order and payment are confirmed, we typically need 1–2 business days to pick, quality-check and pack your sandals, dresses, footwear or linen set before it leaves our France-based facility. Processing runs Monday to Friday only; we do not process or dispatch orders on weekends or French public holidays.
During exceptionally busy periods, such as seasonal sales, processing may occasionally run slightly longer than 1–2 business days. If that happens on your order, we'll let you know by email.
Transit time
Once dispatched from France, your parcel typically takes 6–8 business days to reach your UK delivery address. This transit window covers international carriage from France, customs clearance into the UK (see Section 9), and final-mile delivery by our UK courier partner.
Transit times are estimates rather than guarantees, and can vary slightly depending on your exact location within the UK, the carrier's network on a given week, and factors outside our control described in Section 10.
Total shipping time: processing + transit
This 7–10 business day estimate is measured in UK and French business days (Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays in either country) and starts from the point your order is confirmed and paid for, not from the date of dispatch.
Shipping costs
We offer free shipping on every order shipped to a UK address, with no minimum order value and no exceptions by product category. Whether you're ordering a single pair of sandals or a full 3-piece linen set, delivery is included in the price you see at checkout.
The shipping cost (£0.00) is always confirmed at checkout before you complete your purchase, alongside the total price of your order. This does not include any UK import VAT or customs charges that may apply — see Section 9 for how these are handled.
Carriers & how we pack your order
We work with established international carrier and postal partners experienced in France-to-UK parcel delivery, selecting the most reliable service available for your delivery area at the time your order ships. Every parcel is dispatched with tracking as standard — see Section 8.
Dresses and 3-piece linen sets are folded and shipped in protective poly mailers or bags to guard against moisture during transit. Sandals and footwear are shipped in their retail shoebox, packed inside a protective outer shipping carton to prevent the shoebox itself being damaged or used as the address label.
Order tracking
As soon as your order is dispatched from France, you'll receive a shipping confirmation email containing your tracking number and a link to follow your parcel's journey. You can also track your order at any time using our Track Your Order page.
Please allow up to 24 hours after dispatch for tracking information to become active on the carrier's system, as scanning can lag slightly behind physical collection.
Customs, duties & import VAT
Because Selenalondon ships from France, which sits outside the UK's customs territory, every parcel we send passes through UK customs before delivery. Here's how that affects your order:
Orders valued at £135 or less
Under UK rules for low-value imports, any UK import VAT due on orders at or below £135 is accounted for by us as the seller and is already reflected in the price you pay at checkout. You should not be charged customs duty or asked for further VAT payment on delivery for these orders.
Orders valued above £135
For orders above this threshold, or where multiple items are combined into one parcel that exceeds it, UK import VAT and any applicable customs duty are collected on import and may be charged to you by the carrier before or on delivery, in line with standard UK customs procedure.
Almost all Selenalondon orders — including our full-price sandals, dresses, footwear and 3-piece linen sets — fall under the £135 threshold individually, so the vast majority of customers will not encounter any additional charge on delivery. If you order multiple items together and the combined value is higher, please contact us before ordering if you'd like clarity on how this may apply to your specific order.
Delivery delays
We work to have every order arrive within the estimated 7–10 business day window, but delays can occasionally happen for reasons outside our control, including:
- Carrier network delays or high-volume periods (such as seasonal sales or public holidays).
- UK customs processing, including random inspections of incoming parcels.
- Severe weather or transport disruption affecting Channel crossings or UK road networks.
- Industrial action or other logistical disruption affecting carriers in France or the UK.
If your order is running later than expected, please check your tracking link first. If you're still concerned once the estimated window has passed, contact us and we'll investigate with the carrier on your behalf.
Delivery address & failed delivery attempts
Please double-check your delivery address, postcode and contact number at checkout — these are used both for delivery and, where needed, for UK customs clearance. You are responsible for providing accurate and complete shipping details.
If an order has already been dispatched, we are not able to guarantee a change of address or a replacement shipment if the original delivery information provided was incorrect or incomplete. Where possible, our carrier will attempt to contact you to resolve an address issue directly.
If nobody is available to receive your parcel, our carrier will generally leave a card with instructions for redelivery or collection from a local depot or safe place, in line with their standard delivery procedure. Parcels that are not collected within the carrier's holding period may be returned to us in France; if this happens, we will contact you to arrange redelivery, which may involve an additional shipping charge to cover the return and re-dispatch.
Lost or missing parcels
If tracking shows your parcel as delivered but you haven't received it, please first check with neighbours and any building reception or safe place, as carriers sometimes leave parcels in an alternative secure location and note this on the tracking record.
If your order hasn't arrived within the estimated 7–10 business day window and tracking hasn't updated, contact us at contact@selenalondon.com with your order number. We'll open an investigation with the carrier and, where a parcel is confirmed lost in transit, arrange a replacement or a full refund at no extra cost to you.
Multiple items & split shipments
Most orders, including those mixing sandals, dresses, footwear and 3-piece linen sets, are packed and shipped together in a single parcel. Occasionally, based on stock location or item size, we may split your order into more than one parcel at no extra cost to you — each with its own tracking number, sent to you separately by email.
A 3-Piece Linen Set is always packed and shipped as a complete set within a single parcel, and is never split across separate deliveries.
Public holidays
Our processing and cut-off schedule follows French public holidays, since that's where your order is picked, packed and dispatched from. Delivery within the UK may also be affected by UK bank holidays, which can pause final-mile delivery for a day even once your parcel has cleared customs.
During the period around Christmas, New Year, and other peak shopping periods, please allow extra time beyond our usual 7–10 business day estimate, as both French processing and UK final-mile delivery networks experience higher volumes.
Returns & shipping
This policy covers the outbound delivery of your order from France to the UK. If you need to send an item back to us — whether because you've changed your mind or an item arrived faulty, damaged or incorrect — that process, including who pays for return postage and how customs is handled on the way back, is covered in full in our Return & Refund Policy.
In short: you have 30 days from delivery to request a return, and we cover return shipping in full whenever the item is faulty, damaged or not what you ordered.
Governing law & your statutory rights
As a UK-based customer, your order is protected by UK consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which requires goods to be delivered within the timeframe agreed at checkout (or, if none was stated, within 30 days), and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, which sets out your rights around delivery information and risk of loss during transit.
Under these Regulations, risk in the goods — including responsibility for loss or damage in transit — remains with us until the goods are delivered into your possession or that of a person you've nominated to receive them, not the carrier.
As a company registered in France, JLA Marketing is also subject to the French Code de la consommation. Where any term of this policy conflicts with a right you hold under UK or French law, your statutory right always takes precedence.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Shipping Policy from time to time as our carriers, processing times or applicable customs rules change. Any update will be published on this page with a revised "Last updated" date shown in the hero at the top. Changes will not apply retroactively to reduce the shipping terms that applied to an order already placed.
