Copyright Policy
Every image, every word, honestly ours to protect.
This policy explains who owns the photography, descriptions and design on Selenalondon, how we license and moderate customer reviews and photos, what you may and may not do with our content, and exactly how to report a suspected copyright or trademark infringement — whether it concerns our site or someone else's use of it.
What this policy covers, and who owns what on Selenalondon.
This Copyright & Intellectual Property Policy applies to everything published on selenalondon.com: our product photography, product descriptions, category copy, layout and visual design, logo and wordmark, blog and guide content, and the underlying HTML, CSS and scripts that build the pages themselves. It sits alongside, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Selenalondon is a trading name of JLA Marketing, a company registered in Paris, France under SIRET 834 721 094 00011. Unless a specific product image or line of text is credited to a named manufacturer or is clearly marked as customer-submitted, JLA Marketing owns or holds a valid licence to every piece of content published under the Selenalondon name, and that content is protected under French intellectual property law and, in respect of your use of it as a UK customer, under UK copyright law.
Nothing in this policy transfers ownership of our content to you. Browsing, ordering from, and sharing links to our site does not grant you any licence beyond the limited personal use described in the "Permitted use" section below.

Why our listings for sandals, dresses, footwear and linen sets are ours to protect.
Every image and description published against our four categories — sandals, dresses, footwear and 3-piece linen sets — is either commissioned or licensed by JLA Marketing from our production and fulfilment partners specifically for use on Selenalondon, or written in-house from those licensed assets and our own review of the product. We do not lift photography from marketplaces, competitor sites or unrelated stock libraries, and we do not publish watermarked images that belong to a third party. Where an image is supplied to us by a manufacturing partner under licence, that licence covers our right to display it; ownership of the underlying photograph may still sit with that partner, and we credit it accordingly on request.
We keep listing content accurate and representative of the physical product, and we correct discrepancies as soon as we are made aware of them, in line with the sourcing standards set out in our About Us page. This is also why we ask anyone using our imagery without permission to stop: a reused or altered image can misrepresent a garment's true colour, fit or condition to a shopper who has never visited our site.
What we publish
Commissioned or licensed photography, honestly written descriptions, sizing notes and fabric detail specific to the exact item sold.
What we don't do
We don't republish another retailer's photography without a licence, and we don't permit our own imagery to be used the same way.
The names, marks and product titles that belong to us — and to others.
Selenalondon name & mark
"Selenalondon", our logo, and the visual identity of this website are used by JLA Marketing to identify our store. They may not be copied, imitated or used in connection with any other product or service without our written consent.
Product & collection names
Individual product titles used on our listings, such as the Amelia™ Three-Piece Set, are used by us to distinguish our own product lines and may be protected as trademarks or trade names in their own right.
Third-party marks
Payment provider logos (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Klarna, Apple Pay) and any manufacturer branding shown on our site remain the property of their respective owners and are used only to indicate accepted or compatible services.
If you submit a review or photo, here is exactly what happens to it.
When you leave a written review, a star rating, or upload a photo of a Selenalondon product, you remain the owner of what you created. By submitting it, you grant JLA Marketing a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, reproduce, adapt for layout purposes, and feature that content on selenalondon.com, in our marketing emails, and on our official social media channels, for as long as the content remains genuinely useful to other shoppers.
You confirm, by submitting, that the review or photo is your own genuine experience or original image, that you have the right to share it, and that it does not infringe anyone else's copyright, privacy or other rights. We moderate submissions before publication and may decline or remove content that is false, offensive, unrelated to the product, or that we reasonably believe infringes a third party's rights.
You may ask us to remove your review or photo at any time by contacting contact@selenalondon.com. Where a submitted photo contains personal data — such as your face — that data is also handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and UK GDPR.

Personal, non-commercial use
- Viewing, browsing and screenshotting pages for your own personal reference before buying.

Commercial or misleading reuse
- Copying our product photography or descriptions to list the same or similar items on another store, marketplace or advertising platform.
- Scraping, bulk-downloading or mirroring pages, images or pricing data through automated tools.
- Cropping, altering or removing our imagery from its original context in a way that misrepresents the product.

- Reselling, sublicensing or redistributing our content, in whole or in part, for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent.
The specific French and UK law behind this policy.
France — where JLA Marketing is established
As a company registered and operating from Paris, our ownership of original photography, written content, layout and brand identity is protected under the French Code de la propriété intellectuelle (Intellectual Property Code), which grants automatic author's rights (droit d'auteur) to original creative works without the need for registration, and protects our registered trade name and marks against unauthorised commercial use.
United Kingdom — where our customers shop
Because we sell exclusively to UK customers, your use of our website is also governed by the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, which protects our original literary and artistic works — including photography and written descriptions — against unauthorised copying, and by the Trade Marks Act 1994, which protects registered and unregistered brand names and marks from misuse.
Believe your work has been used without permission? Here is how to report it.
If you believe that content on selenalondon.com infringes your copyright or trademark — or if you believe someone else is using our original photography, descriptions or brand assets without our permission — please email contact@selenalondon.com with the subject line "Intellectual Property Report" and include the following, so we can investigate and respond as quickly as possible:
Your detailsYour full name, the company you represent (if any), and a contact email and phone number.
The protected workA clear description or copy of the original copyright or trademark you say has been infringed, including proof of ownership where available.
The infringing contentThe exact URL(s) on selenalondon.com, or a clear description of where the infringement appears, so we can locate it without delay.
A good-faith statementA statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the rights holder, their agent, or the law.
An accuracy statementA statement, made under penalty of perjury where applicable, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf.
Your signatureA physical or electronic signature confirming the report.
How we handle a report, and what happens next
Every intellectual property report sent to contact@selenalondon.com is reviewed by a member of our team within one business day of receipt. We aim to complete a full assessment and reply with our findings, and any action taken, within 24 hours during business days, in line with our standard response commitment.
Where a report shows that content on selenalondon.com genuinely infringes a third party's rights, we remove or correct the affected image, description or reference promptly, and we review our sourcing arrangement with the relevant production or fulfilment partner to prevent a repeat.
If a customer-submitted review or photo appears to infringe someone else's copyright or contains content it should not, we remove or restrict that submission while we investigate, and we may contact the customer who submitted it for clarification.
If you find our original Selenalondon photography, descriptions or brand assets being used without permission on another website, marketplace or advertising platform, please report it to us at the same address. We take unauthorised reuse of our listings seriously, as it can mislead shoppers about products that are, in fact, only available through us.
If we remove content in response to a report and the person who submitted it believes this was done in error, they may reply to our confirmation email with an explanation and any supporting evidence of their right to use the content. We review counter-claims in good faith and restore content where the claim is substantiated.
Where we identify repeated or deliberate misuse of our content by a partner, customer or third party, we may suspend the relevant account or relationship, request the affected content be taken down at source, and pursue the matter under applicable French or UK intellectual property law where necessary.
We may update this policy as our catalogue, content practices or applicable copyright and trademark law evolve. The "Effective & last updated" date shown in the hero above always reflects the current version, and material changes will be reflected here.
