Looking for Alaska

“Looking for Alaska,” by John Green is a great young-adult novel. “Looking for Alaska” is about teenagers who want to grow-up. It’s about teenagers figuring themselves out. It’s about teenagers loving, fighting and making mistakes. The main character of the book is a teenager named Miles Halter. Miles’s friends nick-name him Pudge. Pudge is a new kid at the prep school named Culver Creek. Pudge goes to Culver Creek prep school to make new friends and to find himself… he goes there to find his, “Great Perhaps.” What does he find when he gets to Culver Creek?

He finds Alaska.

Alaska is Alaska Young, a beautiful, smart and vivacious teenager. Alaska is a center point of Pudge’s circle-of-friends. She is wild and spontaneous. Everyone thinks they get Alaska… but, they don’t know what’s going on in her head.

Something tragic happens to Alaska. It’s up to Pudge and his circle-of-friends to figure out why.

“Looking for Alaska” is a crazy ride. You love, you laugh and you cry when you read the book. I think everyone should check-out this book. It is powerful and poignant.

All right. That’s it for now. I’ll see you later.

Until then…

Always with infinite love,
Selena London
